This time of year people head to the islands to get some warmth and forget about life in a cold climate. Even if you can’t leave the couch you can still take a mental vacation with our radio show on Sundays called the Tropical Daze Show. The show is themed with funny themes and lots of great music such as reggae, soca, and Southern country. Classic rock also creeps into the mix on occasion and so do the oldies. Hey it’s one big party and whether you drink or not Happy Hour starts at 3:00PM on our show. We feel bad for the people in Vancouver that start their Happy Hour at 11am, but there have been no complaints so far.

Who joins us on the show, are they truckers? Hey we know the station is built around our trucking industry brand and they are certainly welcome, but this show is a little different. Even as a trucker I have always had a love for the Caribbean with my Guyanese heritage and travelling to the islands since I was a young boy so this show fits me perfectly. The Tropical Daze Show however was inspired by other people. It started in 2020 with Covid as a way to connect with our audience. The show is loosely patterned off a performer from Barbados called Mr Impact who does an amazing show with much of the same music and awesome in-person performance. We even did the show live at his outdoor restaurant when on the island and have performed at other places on the island as well. Check out our videos on YouTube.
The show is also inspired by a good friend that played in a duo called Tropical Daze and I helped with album artwork and more for the band. The name is a tribute to my good friends to keep their memory alive.
So whether you are packing for vacation and want to get into the mood, or you can’t afford a vacation and would like a mental break then this show is for you. This is also a great way to have a DJ for your party or you can hire us live both in-person or virtual like this back yard party below.
