The Thompson Band is our Preferred Artists this week on Lead Pedal Radio. This family band based in Southern Ontario has been a staple of the music scene for decades. Husband, Father, and Guitarist Danny Thompson has been on the music scene with a number of country albums for over 40 years with many songs such as “Miles and Miles’ directly focused on the trucking industry. Over the years the band has changed members and daughter Danielle has taken over much of the lead singing and writing duties.
We originally met the Thompsons through a Trucking for a Cure event and through the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada back in 2009. Since then they have been instrumental in the development of the Lead Pedal Brands and have become good friends.
The Thompsons offer tribute shows on a regular basis such as the one above for Merle Haggard. Currently they are performing a Wille Nelson Tribute called “On The Road Again” across Southern Ontario.
