Truck Ride for Special Olympics held their annual convoy event to raise money for Special Olympics Athletes in Burford Ontario on August 29th and raised a record $154,000 for the cause.

The event normally takes place in the middle of September in Paris Ontario. This year they not only changed the date to the end of August, but also changed location from Paris Ontario to the Agricultural Fair Grounds in Burford Ontario. The organizing team was worried that low attendance, and tough economic conditions would prevent raising funds for this important cause. The trucking community always steps up and between dedicated drivers and the great sponsors involved the event surpassed their largest fund raise by $4000.
